ANY EXCUSE TO GO TO PARIS ...

Yesterday's Sun newspaper (15th November 2011) announced that Peter Doherty has fled to Paris because, as "close pals" have revealed he has been visited at his London flat by the ghost of Amy Winehouse and that the artist is too terrified to remain there.

I was with Peter to bid him farewell on Sunday 6th November and helped him pack some personal possessions into the black Mercedes belonging to nutritionist Daisy Whitbread, he didn't mention anything about being haunted by Amy's ghost. If anything I would imagine that Peter would be delighted to have the chance to see Amy again in spectral form or otherwise.

He was deeply affected by the singer's death to whom he was very close and has expressed his grief and respects to fans, performing covers of her songs at his concerts.

Before he packed final items into the car taking him to Paris he performed a new song which he has written, beginning with the line " Amy won't be coming round tonight ..."- hardly the sentiment of a man expecting spectral visitations.

The song is still a work in progress and entitled simply "Amy" can be found on YouTube http://www.youtube.com/user/professorro?feature=mhee#p/u/0/lmiYoeEaqow

Peter told me that he had found a new appartment in Paris and that he intended to continue his work -recording voice-overs - on the film based on the novel  "Confession d'un Enfant du Siecle" by romantic poet Alfred de Musset in which Peter plays the leading role, against co-star actress and singer Charlotte Gainsbourg.

The film will premiere at Cannes next Summer.

"ANY EXCUSE TO GO TO PARIS" is the title of a blood painting by Peter Doherty.
